Motorola Inc. has rolled out its VC6096, an in-vehicle, fixed-mount mobile computer that provides both GPS-based asset tracking and vehicle monitoring, as well as navigation and other location-based services. The VC6096 provides asset visibility needed to support real-time location-based applications from directions for drivers to fleet location for dispatchers. The device can also provide simultaneous voice and data connections via 3.5G wide-area network connectivity on a GSM network as well as a Wi-Fi connection.
