European navigation software maker Nav N Go will launch its 3D navigation
software iGO8 for the North American market at the Consumer Electronics Show
(CES) next month, the company said Thursday.
Nav N Go says iGO8 will offer lifelike 3D imaging with elevations, buildings,
landmarks and topographic maps for PNDs, smart phones and game consoles. The
product has a fast route calculation tool and covers more than 70 countries
with navigable maps. The North American edition of the software will provide
a full-coverage basic map of North America on a 1 gigabyte Secure Digital (SD)
flash memory card, the company says.
"With our proven success in Europe, advancing to North America is a natural
step for us," said Leon van de Pas, CEO of Nav N Go. "As the market
for GPS navigation devices is predicted to grow from 3 million units in 2006
to 25 million units by 2010 in North America, we believe our timing is perfect.
Our participation at CES Las Vegas is an opportunity for us to demonstrate
the most innovative product in this space and initiate dialogues for further
partnerships."
Nav N Go, which incorporated in 2004, is based in Budapest, Hungary and has
some 50 consumer electronics companies in its customer base.
